Artist Statement

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.” Albert Einstein

My works reflect and originate from my own state of mind of discomfort and unrest. My creation process is circular commencing with hypothesis or thought, studying and data collection in diverse ways. Data processing is conducted within the expression of an idea or specific feeling through a continuous and iterative creation in which every result is only a beginning of a new path, and one thing leads to another.

An important repeating theme for me is the notion of the elusive and omni-presence of a ‘limit’, the limit between existence non-existence, here and there, longing and unattainable. This is explored by emphasizing the dissonance between the visible in the creation and what is accepted in our nature. This dissonance, reflected by the artwork, raises the Heideggerian conflict between ‘World’ (Welt) and ‘Earth’ (Erde) generating a stress to awaken thought and feeling. Another important theme I have been exploring for the last 20 years is the feminine body and appearance, specifically I have been examining the changes and deconstruction of the feminine body and developed techniques which project personal consciences and spiritual processes.

My origins in art involve painting and drawing employing different materials and techniques ranging from drawing with nib pen and ink, aquarelle, charcoal, to oil colors etc. Today, as an interdisciplinary artist, I create in a wide range of techniques and subjects, including combination of visual art and text, video art, video installation, photographing, painting in mix media, etc.
